Premedical: School- Ctg Govt. Muslim High School Stood First in SSC in the then Comilla Board in the Science Group in 1975.

Medical: Ctg Medical College Stood First in the 2nd & 3rd Professional MBBS Exam of Ctg University with Honours in Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Pathology, and Community Medicine. Passed MBBS in September 1983.

PhD: University of London in 1992 On Calcitonin, CGRP and Calcium metabolism He got Distinction in PhD from University of London. He published nearly 40 publications in International Journals.

Work with Nobel Laureate: Dr. Towhid published his first international scientific publication with Sir John Vane, a Nobel Laureate of St. Barthelomew's Hospital, London, in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), USA in 1991.

Discovery: Dr. Towhid discovered mode of action of Amylin & Calcitonin. He also discovered the role of Endothelin & Calcium in Osteoclast function regulation.

MRCP:  Royal College of Physicians in 1994.

MD: University of Dhaka in Endocrinology & Metabolism in 1999 from BIRDEM.

2 MCPS: In Internal Medicine and Family Medicine from the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Bangladesh, 1994.
